i’ve gotten so many questions recently about makeup, and how i achieve a contoured look.
there are great guides on Pinterest i recommend using. just search “contouring makeup tutorial” and tons of options will appear for your reference.
here’s one i’ve used:
step one
apply your usual foundation
step two
Well Rested by bareMinerals
this is what i use for a bright, glowing look
apply directly under the eyes, on your forehead between your brows, on either side of your nose, and on ball of your chin.
i use the liquid version first, then apply a light layer of the Well Rested powder to seal and keep it from settling in those fine lines.
step three
to keep from getting a shine in the summer heat + humidity, use a light finishing powder.
i recommend using this one by Make Up For Ever called HD Microfinish Powder.
step four
Too Faced bronzer
there are multiple shades of this bronzer, just choose one that is a bit too dark for your skin tone. in my opinion, using powder helps for the contour lines to appear softer than with liquid.
apply your bronzer with a small contouring brush like this one
[ refer to the step by step image above for this step]
using the reference, apply the bronzer under cheekbones, on either side of the bridge of your nose, under your chin on the jawline, and around your hairline.
step five
buff your contouring lines using an all over bronzer in a lighter shade to soften those lines.
i use a bareMinerals version called warmth, but they have varying shades for different skin tones.
step six
apply a bright blush to the apples of your cheeks, and you’re done!
i hope these tips help you achieve a soft, glowing, contoured look!
